The front page of TheHipHopChronicle.com is as good today as ever… here’s a clip with one of my favourite rappers I saw on the site. The man who we connect with Big Pun through, reflects on his time doing the deed with the Doc.
Last Friday night, Vik and I were invited to witness Jay Sean and Birdman blow most new artists whole album budget on one party. London hasn’t seen anything like this for a long time. Guests included Birdman and Slim of Cash Money, Rihanna, Ice-T, Alesha Dixon, Manny Norte, Reggie Yates (with Jay-Z wardrobe in tow), Craig David and many more.
Very big event for the UK music industry, indie artists, and for south Asian artists. This guy is in unchartered territory and scouring the landscape very well. Jay Sean’s album ‘All or Nothing’ is out now. Purchase links are at www.JaySean.com. Props to Kodak for the Zi8 cameras we used.
Thinking about having kids? Under 30? Well all you need to know is that Durex probably tried to have this woman assasinated about 700 times during the 80’s and 90’s. Welcome back to the Queen of Lovers Rock, and your favourite songstresses favourite songstress, Sade, (pronouced ’sha-day’ you fkin T-Pain loving moron).
So we always knew that when Kanye and 50 Cent famously went head to head on album sales in Sept 07 (Kanye’s ‘Graduation’ Vs Fif’s ‘Curtis’) – it was all one big set up, with Viacom, Interscope and Island Def Jam fanning the flames. However, if you read between the lines, or look at the video below for crystal confirmation, 50 has been saying that Kanye didn’t camp up the campaign as much as he should’ve, hence the follow on disses. The full interview will be out on Fuse soon, but until then.
One of my favourite things online, and a recent catchphrase that is affecting my real life. Legend Ed Lover’s latest episode. Find previous episodes on his YouTube.
Whitney did it again, 305,000 copies sold first week out, number one on billboard in the US (Jay-Z set to do 300k to 350k according to Sumit). ‘Million Dollar Bill’ is my jam too… here’s the video link.
