Last night Vik and I set up the tables at my house and mixed it up a little for our peeps online on a Sunday. It’s a bit uptempo and the levels are a little up and down but we’ll get it right in time. However, it’s pretty good, Vik get’s it in for the first 50 mins or so with some high energy dance and then it’s all a bit mixbag after that with me. Enjoy and stay tuned for more.
Listen back to Lovesoul mixing live on UStream – January 30th 2011. (We didn’t embed it because it auto-plays)
I mean, it’s like novelty beatboxing for 30 years olds. Do you love it as much as much as I do?
Of course it’s an old song now. I just wanted to make the point that this song works because unlike the trash that the Kray Twins put out with generic club macking lyrics, this has built a whole concept around a record and the Indian samples take second place, as part of the music, not the forefront, where it often ends up as a novelty. You get me?
One of the biggest tunes in the clubs at the moment. Should tie us over until the big summer hits come in.
Best show I have seen in years. Not perfect, but undoubtably a major hip-hop force with years of growth ahead of him.
Recently, Mike D of the Beastie Boys, rang Zane Lowe’s show to say that fellow bandmate Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch is clear of cancer.
Sadly, the announcement that real hip-hop fans around the world have been waiting for may have come too soon, according to news sources on Gigwise. Yauch released a statement saying that the news was ‘exaggerated’ and he is still receiving treatment.
It’s a shame when news like this plays out back and forth in big media, but in any case, we still pray for a speedy recovery.
Thanks to Sumit… obviously. Jeez, they do spazz at 3.05 for Rihanna’s ‘What’s my name?’
One of my top 3 just tore down London… very proud, Tdot stand up…
Easily my favourite RnB artist drops another gem. Now I personally am not a fan of the honky tonk blues music, and 90′s Saddiq is really my choice, however, he is damn good at this. However, if he was to make another Ray Ray / Instant Vinatge album, I would break down his damn door to steal it. Until then, listen to Radio by Raphael Saddiq.
It’s not as savage as DOA, but it’s very much needed. All I gotta say is that all these rappers (except Stat, Dre and Cashis) all are suckers for putting their pop hook foot forward when it comes to album release time. I’m a huge fan of clearing out the closet records, but we need an album of this nature to really galvanise the position of these artists. Shout out to Dynamo for putting us on!
Most cameos in one UK video? Yeah, he gets that award. Dude can rhyme too…
See the names of all the features after the jump. Props to CharlieSloth for the put on.
