Beastie Boy MCA may still have cancer after BBC announcement.
Jan 8th
Recently, Mike D of the Beastie Boys, rang Zane Lowe’s show to say that fellow bandmate Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch is clear of cancer.

Sadly, the announcement that real hip-hop fans around the world have been waiting for may have come too soon, according to news sources on Gigwise. Yauch released a statement saying that the news was ‘exaggerated’ and he is still receiving treatment.
It’s a shame when news like this plays out back and forth in big media, but in any case, we still pray for a speedy recovery.

Jay Sean blogs about last two years in America
Jan 5th
File this under ‘Fkin Ridiculous’ right? Hounslow’s favourite son writes up his meteoric rise since entering the US music scene.

“So, another year gone, and so much has happened. Sometimes it feels like it’s all one big blur, and thankfully, I have photos and calendar entries to see exactly what it was that I did!! 2010 was a year in which I witnessed growth. Growth as an artist, as a vocalist, and a songwriter but perhaps more importantly growth as a human being. 2009 ended with me having wedged my foot in the door, and 2010 gave me the opportunity to walk proudly in, quietly confident.”
NEW Raphael Saddiq ‘Radio’ off upcoming ‘Stone Rolling’ Album
Jan 5th
Easily my favourite RnB artist drops another gem. Now I personally am not a fan of the honky tonk blues music, and 90′s Saddiq is really my choice, however, he is damn good at this. However, if he was to make another Ray Ray / Instant Vinatge album, I would break down his damn door to steal it. Until then, listen to Radio by Raphael Saddiq.

Cee-Lo Green’s New Show ‘Lay It Down’
Sep 17th
Looks like the innovators at Fuse have really picked an amazing conduit to the Hip-Hop, RnB and Rock space in Cee-Lo Green. The first show will feature NERD, Ludacris and Janelle Monáe, and the trailer looks super dope. Will this eccentric Goodie Mobber be able to ask the right questions? Will he jump on the mic and collab with certain artists? I would love to see him to this show in a Jools Holland format. It all is to be seen, come the premiere date of October 20th on Fuse in the US. See the trailer after the jump.

The front page of TheHipHopChronicle.com is as good today as ever… here’s a clip with one of my favourite rappers I saw on the site. The man who we connect with Big Pun through, reflects on his time doing the deed with the Doc.
Jay Sean Cash Money Album Launch London
Nov 30th
Last Friday night, Vik and I were invited to witness Jay Sean and Birdman blow most new artists whole album budget on one party. London hasn’t seen anything like this for a long time. Guests included Birdman and Slim of Cash Money, Rihanna, Ice-T, Alesha Dixon, Manny Norte, Reggie Yates (with Jay-Z wardrobe in tow), Craig David and many more.
Very big event for the UK music industry, indie artists, and for south Asian artists. This guy is in unchartered territory and scouring the landscape very well. Jay Sean’s album ‘All or Nothing’ is out now. Purchase links are at www.JaySean.com. Props to Kodak for the Zi8 cameras we used.
