After the short lived and poorly received video for “Pray”, which consisted solely of Jay-Z live performance clips, it seems that Young Hova has totally 180′d in his new video, and excluded himself fully from it. Instead the main lead is Zoe Kravitz, daughter of legend Lenny. The video is a homage to the roots of the song, a metaphor between falling in love and drug abuse, both of which are heavily hinted, and artistically shot. But do not expect there to be a final concluding scene at the end, since the video is aimed to be a “a three-and-a-half-minute head trip” or so claims the producer, Philip Andelman [source: MTV.com].

It looks like an artistic attempt by all involved, and I feel it will be like marmite… people will either love it or hate it. But credit is due to Jay for making a video more artistically fitting to the song. And in today’s current stale climate of rap videos, this is a welcome breath of fresh air.

… and now a personal travel note as I just landed in the UK from Vegas.

I went to 40/40 club in vegas, unfortunately I just missed the legend himself as he came through the night before I attended. It is the ultimate total club/bar……great drinks menu, great food available, fully of comfy couches and free pool tables and arcade games…..oh yeah, and a gold titled dance floor! It’s got to be up there with one of the hottest venues in Vegas, and the DJ was under orders to play 97-2004 hip hop early on till midnight/one, to give it a more NY feel, and then play everything else with 4-5am….AWESOME!
